Countermeasure Systems

Lockheed Martin Sippican's Countermeasure Systems Division offers a fully integrated soft-kill weapon system for ship self-defense. The Electronic Warfare product line includes active and passive off-board decoys, all of which can be launched and controlled by Sippican-produced decoy launch systems. To complement its active decoy product line, Sippican acquired the Hycor Group, in January 1998, from L-3 Communications Corporation. The Hycor Group, recently renamed as the Passive Decoy Systems Group, designs and manufactures expendable SRBOC and/or RBOC chaff and infrared decoys, dual-mode RF/IR decoys, as well as anti-torpedo acoustic decoys. The product line also includes the ALEX System (an automated decoy launch and control system which incorporates either SRBOC or RBOC launchers), a related tactics development system (TAWS), on-board training systems, EW simulation systems, and total life-cycle support for the entire product line.
