Oceanographic Systems
Lockheed Martin Sippican's Sea-Air Systems Division manufactures oceanographic systems: launching devices and shipboard data acquisition systems which record, process, and interpret the data the probes collect.
The data is used principally by navies to calibrate sonar systems involved in submarine detection, surveillance, and tracking and to provide oceanographers involved in various global climate problems with accurate measurements of temperature and salinity.

Expendable Probes
Lockheed Martin Sippican's expendable probes collect data on physical properties of the ocean such as temperature, sound velocity, conductivity, and current velocity. The probes can be launched from a variety of platforms including aircraft, surface ships, and submarines.

Launchers
Lockheed Martin Sippican launchers are available in three models. Each is compatible with all XBTs, XSVs, Digital XCTDs and shipboard data processing systems.
